cd writers software

my cd writer is not accessible when i put in a blank cd?

my cd writer play other movie cds or software cds but when in i put blank cds its not accessible and this error occurred
error is

H: is not accessible.
incorrect function.

Its a Technical problem and I am going to give U a technical answer..
Try to understand it.

Your CD Rom reads (as U say) really just about anything.
BUT, when U put the Blank cd in,,the message is quote: H: is not accessible.
If U put any blank disk into the cd rom, it IS accessible..simply means that clicking on the cd drive shows a blank screen.
Often another screen message appears about whether or not to open a cd write program etc. etc.
If that message is not appearing, it means your cd burner program is simply not configured to open blank cd disks.
However the message u are receiving indicates that the cd rom drive cannot read the disk in the drive.
It states "it is not accessible" that does NOT mean the cd rom cannot recognise the disk, it simply cannot read ANY information from the disk..EVEN, and understand this, EVEN Blank cd disk have
a sector in the disk that will allow a cd rom to read it EVEN as a blank disk..it just wont read ANY programs/files on the disk until its BURNT with Programs/files etc.
This message U are receiving is rather common with "SOME" blank trade name cd disks.
In essense..it simply means and I mean SIMPLY means..that the actual cd disk is FAULTY.
Faulty in manufacture.. I have been doing PC Repairs/Programming etc. for 16 years and i have come across faulty blank cd disks OFTEN >>even though, the box says "100% error free"
I have often found (as I use many, many blank cd/dvd disks) anything up to 8 out of 10 disks faulty in the one box.
I simply return the disks to the place of purchase..It IS Common and particularly with ONE brand of cd disks that come in cd and dvd form...It IS also very possible that your cd rom is slow speed and the cd disks are fast (high speed disks)..Speeds for blank cd disks are written on the cd box..Speed for your cd rom is written on the top of the cd rom.
U might and I am only guessing,.. have a cd writer that can only go up to say 24 or 32 x speed (or lower) and your blank disks are 48 to 52 x speed=high speed.
Cd audio disks are not high speed cd disks. Many software disks are not High speed.
Usually high speed blank disks are silver in color ( silver OR white top)..the yellow or gold disks are the best to use.
I lean however more to the first explanation on the faulty cd disks themselves.
Unless U are VERY computer literate, this message and your problem can be very frustrating.
