Can you change album artwork on iTunes?

Like, take your own pictures off the hard drive and put them there instead of Album artwork? Say, for instance, you have your own picture of a band and you want that instead of its CD cover artwork. Is that possible on iTunes?
Or can you add it if there isnt one to begin with?

the albun artwork is the actual cd cover that you would get if you bought it from a store, so i highly dobt you can change it easily, unless you can alter the programing of itunes, which i dont recomend.
